Here are just a few of the many exciting titles that have arrived on our shelves.

The Tales of the Peculiar is a book of fairy tales, but they are not your average fairy tales.  From the world of  Miss Peregrines home for Peculiar Children, these fairy tales are just what you would expect.  Stories of cannibals, a fork-tongued princess, and ghosts, these stories are just the right amount of weird you would expect from the world of the Peculiar's!

My Life Before Me

What if the only home you have ever known is an orphanage and when it burns down the only clue to your past is a small newspaper clipping showing a picture of a headstone.  If you are Cady Andrews, the lead character of My Life Before Me, this is the current situation you find your life to be in.  Cady has always wanted to be an investigative reporter so she sets out to uncover how the picture is related to her as if she is solving a mystery unrelated to her.   Her search leads her to a murder in a small town that has been shrouded in deception for many years.   Her persistent quest for the truth uncovers long buried corruption and fractured family relationships.  If you like a mystery with some historical fiction setting the time and place you may enjoy this pick.  

PRISONER OF NIGHT AND FOG

What would it be like to be related to Adolf Hilter?  PRISONER OF NIGHT AND FOG tells the story of Gretchen Muller, who has grown up with her adored Uncle Dolf.  To her, he is a fun-loving uncle...but to the world he is the infamous Adolf Hitler.  Gretchen has never had cause to doubt what Uncle Dolf tells her to think and do..until she meets a fearless (and handsome) Jewish reporter named Daniel.  Uncle Dolf has taught Gretchen to despise people like Daniel, however Daniel has uncovered secret information about the death of Gretchen's father.  Together the two set out to uncover the mystery of how her father was killed, and who was to blame.  Will Gretchen remain true to the Nazi party and her beloved Uncle...or will her eyes be opened to the truth Daniel and his friends try to show her?  This is an exciting and terrifying book that had me on the edge of my seat until the final moment!  If you enjoyed The Boy in the Striped Pajamas or The Book Thief, pick this one up in our library today!
